The people of Gaza have begun the process of returning to normal. One sign of normalcy is the reopening of the schools for classes rather than as bomb shelters, but the signs of destruction and disrupted lives are still very evident. In the Dom community 29 people were killed, with another 227 people injured. Some of the injuries were critical and the death count may rise. Psychological trauma and lost limbs are some of the conditions that will require long-term care. Medicines continue to be in short supply, and housing is still a problem. There are numerous situations where three or four.
Dom families are sharing a small apartment with little hope for finding adequate housing in the near future.
