Amdi Bajram was born in Skopje and graduated from a trade high school, and for some time he was the general director of the textile company "Shutex". Bajram became a Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia in 1994 as a member of the Party for Complete Emancipation of the Roma (PCER), but until the end of his term, he worked as an independent MP. [1] In 1996 he founded SRM and was appointed its president.
Amdi Bajram was one of the pioneers of Roma politics in the Republic of Northern Macedonia. The loss of Amdi Bajram is a loss for the entire Roma community because in his rich political career he initiated and advocated for changes for the Roma community that will leave a mark on the Macedonian political scene. One of the initiatives is the creation of the municipality of Suto Orizari together with Faik Abdi, which is considered to be the first Roma municipality that is administratively run by Roma.
